The safety limit depends on how much the doctor can perform on one person in one day. Typically, the surgeon will only perform two procedures on the same day but never three. For example, if a particular patient requests a tummy tuck, a liposuction for the love handles and breast surgery, then it will be deemed as too much to be done in a day. Dr. Foster will be able to do two of those procedures but not all three. The third one would typically be done the next day due to safety reasons.
Risks and Complications of a Mommy Makeover
If your mommy makeover is performed in a certified facility by a board certified plastic surgeon like Dr. Foster, you will not have to worry about any major risks. The nationwide one percent complication rate from deep-end thrombosis resulting in pulmonary embolism is not really caused by the mommy makeover. It is, in reality, triggered as a complication of general anesthesia. So if you take care to choose a board certified surgeon who performs surgeries in a certified facility, you will not be subjected to the risk of pulmonary embolism.
The minor risks associated with a mommy makeover are minor wound healing issues like widening of the scar or collection of fluids. If fluids get collected, your surgeon will aspirate with a needle, once or twice after the drain has been removed. Moreover, if, during your mommy makeover, the breast implants were inserted through the tummy incision, then there’s the chance of asymmetry of the breasts. Even though this rarely takes place, if it happens, your surgeon will redo the operation to correct it, free of charge.
