Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty comes from two Latin root words, “Rhino,” which means nose, and “Plasty,” which means change. So literally, Rhinoplasty is changing or transforming your nose.

Dr. Foster has mastered the art and science of Rhinoplasty, having performed this procedure throughout his career. Dr. Foster uses the most advanced surgical techniques to perform Rhinoplasty, which leaves no visible scars.

The art of Rhinoplasty lies in transforming the shape and size of the nose in such a way that it brings a great sense of harmony between the facial features. Dr. Foster likes to compare this procedure to Leonardo da Vinci creating a chiseled sculpture – a masterpiece of lasting beauty. Just as great sculptures are a product of the mastery and skill of an experienced sculptor, the results of Rhinoplasty are largely in the hands of the performing surgeon. Leonardo could choose the best Carrerra marble to start with, but we have to deal with the skin and cartilage the patient brings to use. Experienced plastic surgeons know what works best with each type of skin, fat, cartilage and bone, but it takes years and years to learn that. Experience counts a lot in rhinoplasty. Don't trust your nose to a beginner.

Dr. Foster believes that each patient’s facial profile is unique, and needs a different plan and different approach. He will give you several possible results with his video imaging for you to choose exactly the result you want prior to the surgery. The nose itself has 11 different parts, and each part must be dealt with extreme attention and managed in the right proportion to achieve overall results for the patient. We change different parts in different amounts depending on what you have to start with and what you want to end up with.

Millimeter accuracy is critical in Rhinoplasty. The difference between ordinary and extraordinary results may lie in just a single millimeter. With this firm belief, Dr. Foster relies on computer imaging prior to surgery to ensure that his treatment planning is defined accurately, down to the last millimeter.

Essentially, Rhinoplasty is a combination of 11 separate procedures on the nose. Each procedure must work in perfect harmony with the others to deliver perfect results. The precision of the technology combined with the skill and experience of the performing surgeon can produce amazing results for the patients of Rhinoplasty. If healing is less than perfect a revision is done without charge.
