What types of facelift surgery are available?

Facelift surgery can be performed either in full or in parts. Furthermore, the degree of a facelift may also vary depending on the patient’s needs. In a broad sense, the face can be divided into three sections – the eyes, the chin and the mouth. The aggregated cost of these three sections may be in the range of $4,000.

In some cases, the patient may have a saggy neck that will look more pronounced if the rest of the facelift is done. Therefore, the neck lift is done along with the face. This adds up to about $6,500 for the entire procedure. Sometimes the patient may also like to have a forehead lift to eliminate sagging brows, worry lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet. In such a case, the complete neck, face and forehead lift may cost in the range of $8,500. However, in larger cities, the same procedure may cost up to $20,000.

Many patients wish to have only minor versions of a facelift. Many such shortcuts are available today, such as a string lift or a suspension lift. A string lift can raise the big laugh lines or turn a flat cheek into a round cherub cheek. It can also be performed under the neck. String lifts, if done correctly, do not leave any scars at all.

There are other minor facelift procedures such as a micro section procedure for the jowls. Nowadays there are advanced dermal filler treatments such as Juvederm, Restylane and Sculptra that add volume to the face. These are simple, efficient and minimally invasive solutions for a facelift. Many patients are opting for such new procedures because of their effectiveness and uncomplicated approach.
