Dr. Foster has performed several extra large breast augmentation surgeries in Sacramento, apart from other locations. There are essentially three recovery periods when it comes to extra large breast augmentation. The first surgery is when the first implants are placed, which can be up to 1000 cc. The second surgery is done to remove those implants, and place the expanders. The third surgery is to remove the expanders and place the breast implants. All these three operations are done at least three months apart. However, the patients return to their normal activities in the same amount of time as patients with normal sized breast implants.
Another aspect of the recovery from extra large breast augmentation procedure is the big size of the surgical wounds. Even though the recovery time is the same, but it requires extra care during the post-operative care period. If due caution is not exercised, there may be a possibility of the incisions re-opening due to the pressure of the large implant. That makes it very important for the patient to follow the advice of the surgeon diligently during the recovery period.
