What is the Difference Between a Breast Lift and Nipple Lift?

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and age can take a toll on the appearance of breasts, giving them a droopy appearance. The nipple is then relocated to a higher position. The skin which lies above the nipple is brought down and wrapped around the breast’s swell. This procedure is done under general anesthesia.

A nipple lift procedure is best suited for patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their nipples. Such patients are likely to be otherwise satisfied with the overall appearance of their breasts. Women who have nipples which are positioned a little low or are facing downwards will find this procedure helpful. As a part of the procedure, the areola and nipple are repositioned and fixed at their natural height using blood vessels and nerves. The incision is made at the top edge of the nipple. Unlike breast lifts, the procedure is done under local anesthesia.
